Starting a business
Who receives support?
There is no legal entitlement to Services for the Integration of Self-Employed Persons. Whether you receive Services is decided by your contact person at the job center. Before that, they check whether you meet these basic requirements:
You receive basic income support or are entitled to it.
You are self-employed full-time, are already self-employed or are expanding a minor self-employed activity.
You are personally suitable to successfully carry out a self-employed activity. You can find more information about this at the bottom of the page.
You can prove that you cannot use other sources of financing. These could be special federal and state programs, local economic development, bank loans or microloans.
Your business is not insolvent.
Your self-employment is (presumably) economically viable.
What is supported?
Promotion of the acquisition of tangible assets necessary for self-employment and appropriate considering the need for assistance, such as:
Business and office equipment
Machines and tools
Marketing and sales-supporting investments
What are the conditions of the support?
You usually receive the financial support as a loan. Only in individual cases is a grant possible. Your job center decides whether this is possible in your case. Whether you receive the loan or the grant in monthly installments or as a one-time total amount depends on what you use the money for. A combination of grant and loan is also possible.
