Integration allowances for employers

As an employer, you can receive the integration allowance if you fill open positions with applicants who are unemployed or job-seeking or receiving basic income.
You must apply for an integration allowance before signing the employment contract.

A grant is generally possible if...

• initially a lower work performance than usual is to be expected from the employee and therefore a longer induction period is required.
• the integration grant improves the chances of the employee to take up permanent employment. Whether a grant is possible is decided by the employment agency or job centre. There is no legal claim to it. The grant with the integration grant is not possible with every new hire. If you receive an integration grant for a new employee, you must also continue to employ them for a certain period of time after the end of the grant. This so-called post-employment period usually corresponds to the duration of the grant, at most 12 months. If you terminate the employment relationship during this time without good reason, you must repay the grant.

The integration allowance can be granted for a maximum of 12 months. During this time you will receive a maximum of 50 percent of the salary as a subsidy. The exact amount and duration will be decided by the employment agency or the job center. For certain groups of people, the integration allowance can be paid for a longer period and at a different amount.

In order for the requirements to be checked, information about your company and the future employment relationship is required. This information can be submitted online. If the requirements for the funding are met, you will be informed by email. You can fill out the application online and submit it digitally together with a copy of the signed employment contract.
